There are a series of 250 famous oil paintings by Claude Monet (French Impressionist 1840–1926) that uses Water Lilies as its main subject. The water lilies at Seven Ponds Nature Center Dryden Michigan reminded me of that painting and I am sure it was this type of scene that inspired its making.
