Taking a winding path down 260 steps to the shore of the Au Sable River you can see some of the areas beauty off of the Waniganm a floating cook shack used to feed the loggers during the log drive. Lumbernmans Monument is located off of the River Road National Senic Byway near Oscoda Michigan.

The water is so clear on the Au Sable river you can see many of the sand dwelling creatures that live below the water. Above the wate the reflections of the world above and beyound draw you close to the colors of fall. This is Pure Michigan and life as a logger on the Au Sable river.
