In November of 1913 it is said that the waves that hit the light house approached 40 foot. Can you imagine what it would have been like to be in the light house and see waves beating the foundation and wondering if the structure would hold. Not to mention knowing that all of the boat traffic on the Lake was in severe danger. It must have been a life changing moment.
