Washington, Michigan on 2-12-2014 had a quick fog move in, post the fog the sky turned a beautiful shade of blue and the trees showed off the newly deposited Hoar Frost. The beauty of the frost lasted for only 20 minutes in the sun but the memories will last a life time. Frost is the solid deposition of water vapor from humid air. It is formed when the temperature of a solid surface is below the freezing point of water and also below the frost point. Hoar frost, refers to the white ice crystals, loosely deposited on the ground or exposed objects, that form on cold clear nights when heat is lost into the open sky causing objects to become colder than the surrounding air.
